|
|
I am a new user of Jamstix having discovered the group buy. I'm getting on really well with it using Sonar Producer as the host. Jamstix is excellent.
I was hoping that Rayzoon had a virtual guitar to work in the same way as Jamstix but no luck on this. Does anyone know of a MIDI virtual guitar that will do for my Guitar chord sequences what Jamstix does for drums?
I think what I am looking for is a virtual guitarist plugin where I can choose from a selection of styles/guitar genres, point to a MIDI track containing a chord sequence then sit back and enjoy convincing guitar strumming alongside Jamstix.
I have looked at Music Labs 'Rhythm-'n'-Chords but this now appears to be out of development; the last update being for Sonar 4. I have been told it doesn't work with Sonar 6. Band-in-a-Box has also been suggested.
Does anyone have any other suggestions to keep me going until Rayzoon produces their own sometime way down the road.
Thanks. |

There are really only two viable options here. Band In A Box and Jammer.
Of the two, BIAB is probably the better if all you want to do is enter a few chords and have them played back to jam with. The BIAB GUI is a bit clunky, but it is very easy to get it up and running and doing basic things like this.
Jammer - despite its name - is far more comprehensive and considerably more versatile musically, but it doesn't really lend itself to 'quick and dirty' jamming tracks. To compose the track/s, you need to get quite involved with it, probably to a greater depth than you are looking for.
Demos of both are available, why not try them out and see which one suits you better?

To be released sometime in the next 30-40 years. |
