Hi all.

Just bought Jamstix. I noticed as I installed more paks, the more RAM JS took when loading in the host.

Why is this? Is it loading a default kit on startup? It takes about 350mb or memory, but when I only had the stock kits it was about 250mb.

Is there any way to change the start up kit? Just so it is faster to load.

The memory usage should not go up as you install Paks. Paks go on to disk, memory is only used when a specific mapping is loaded. Here are ways to reduce memory load.

- remove toms 2 and 4 from the mapping if you don't need them. Jamstix will intelligently route those tom hits to the other 3 toms.
- check 'Low Mem' to load less velocity layers, this will affect realism
- uncheck 'X-Samples', which will affect realism and may lead to machine-gun effects.

You can set any mapping you want as the default by loading it and saving it to the name 'default'.

Thanks Ralph!

Its not that I don't have enough memory to use Jamstix but it will start to build up when I add other instruments / plugins.
