Okay,
if I understand it right, JamStix will also import standard midifiles....
------
Does it mean that its "human drummer's brain and limbs" will read AND perform those written patterns WITH humanizing them on the fly, thanks to its own "personnality/fitness" ?
Or will it just read the file and play the files unchanged, just as my sequencer currently does ?
-----
If it "performs" and processes those patterns in its own way, that would be terrific, because I -as probably many other people-, already own many drums midiles, which are standard and "pro" patterns, but also sterile ones (written with the mouse and 100% quantized)....
-----
So, what about that ? |

Jamstix will import the first bar and will try to convert its data into Jamstix commands. It will not simply playback or anything like that. It will try to set its snare, kick, and hihat module to simulate the rhythm pattern of the first bar in the MIDI file. As a result, limb control, velocity variance etc. still apply.
Yes, the purpose of the function is to aid you in converting your existing, sterile drum loops into lively Jamstix rhythms. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

- Great for this : "Yes, the purpose of the function is to aid you in converting your existing, sterile drum loops into lively Jamstix rhythms".

- But what do you mean with the "first bar" ?
That a 2 bar, 4 bar pattern will not be used entirely, just the beginning of the pattern ? |

Rhythms in Jamstix use single-bars. Multi-bar patterns are assembled in the Jamstix arranger. For now you'd have to import one bar at a time.
We'll look into extending the import function to import multiple bars into multiple rhythm slots at once to make this simpler. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Oh, I see.
yes, it will really be a thing to provide in an update, because many drum patterns midifiles are longer than 1 bar. |

You won't have to wait for an update. It will be in the 1.0 release _________________ Ralph Zeuner
