|
|
I'm not at my music computer and am doing this from memory...but I think I have a problem when using Lock in the Arranger.
Using: X8-15.
Example: Using Manual mode and selecting an empty rhythm to write a beat. I lock the Rhythm tab so that it keeps repeating the beat without the host sequencer playing. When I get the beat the way I like it, I switch to Arrangment and immediately "Lock" that bar (since the beat is the way I like it, it seemed logical).
Okay, now I play the arrangement (after unlocking the Rhythm tab) with the host sequencer and when it comes to that locked bar, it doesn't play right. Usually it plays half the measure and the second half is silent.
I found if I unlocked the bar and played through it with the host, it works fine, and then if I lock it again, it works fine! It's like you have to play through the bar unlocked before you can lock it for it to play right! That doesn't seem logical.
The problem with playing through a bar unlocked is that JamStix will every once in a while add something...a crash, a tom, whatever, even in Manual mode with everything down and with the Play Input button off.
Anyone else have the problem? |

The problem may be that the 'performance buffer' for each bar gets reset at the beginning of the bar so everytime the lock loops, it resets the buffer and when you switch out of lock before the bar is completely played or after it reached the next "1" you will lose some information.
I recommend we solve the 'keeps adding' issue instead as you really shouldn't have to lock everything.
Please 'write' your rhythm and have the following sliders full at left:
- snare accent
- tom accent
- both cymbal sliders
Now let it play for awhile (unlocked) and you should not here any "extras". _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Unfortunately, I still do. And everything else is at zero, too. I'm still getting cymbal hits once and awhile. The only way to get rid of them is to mute the cymbal group. Unfortunately, this is not rhythm specific. The group mutes affect every rhythm.
But I guess I can mute what I need to, play through the sequence and then lock the necessary bars in the arrangement, and then unmute the drum groups I want to use in other sections. |

Please try unchecking 'Change Crash' in the cymbal panel for each rhythm used and see if it helps. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

That's seems to work. Thanks, Ralph!
Please check a new thread I started about the mapping name disappearing! |
