Rolling Eyes I'm hoping that the, "Big Cheese" can tell me how to get the same groove that is played on your Tutorial showing the Free Jam Technique??? I'm finding myself a bit lost trying to get just a cool responsive rhythm. A couple of questions: Is there a place to download the entire manual to print??? 2) When in Sonar 4 Producer, it says to add an Audio Track & highlite the Input Echo & make sure you have the right input..... What would that be??? I have a pretty compex midi setup with 2 MTP/AVs & I'd like to jamb with the same responsiveness that the woman was getting while instructing.. Can I just use an Oxygen on a seperate port/channel to activate it & it will respond to another keyboard playing????
I appreciate all the help you can give me! Thanks, I know I'm going to Love this Program once I can understand it & get it to run tight... NC Wildman Laughing

There is a PDF version of the manual in the Jamstix 'manual' folder.

What instrument do you want to play during the jam?

I plan on using a Motif with a Piano Patch & I actually double that up with a Roland D-70 on the same Midi Track to obtain a very fat Grand Piano Sound..... I appreciate your help! NC Wildman

Okay, since you are using a hardware instrument, all you have to do is get the MIDI out or thru of your keyboard (or keyboard chain) into Sonar just as you would if you wanted to record your play. Then make sure that there is a MIDI track with output to Jamstix and input the port where your keyboard data arrives. Have Input Echo enabled on that track so your keyboard play is always fed into Jamstix. Set Jamstix to 'Free Jam', adjust funkiness, complexity, accentuation and cymbals as needed and hit Play (or Record if your project is empty) in Sonar. Jamstix should now free jam to your input. You should see the velocity slider in Jamstix move with your play.

There is more to it but I hope this gets you going.
