How do I get jamstix to play only the midi file I saved? This is what I tried:
1) Created arrangement
2) "recorded" 25 bars of great drums
3) exported to midi file
4) Imported midi file into Jamstix midi track
- notes are in track

At this point, I am hoping to use Jamstix as a pure playback vst in Sonar. I am in "manual jam" - but when I hit "PLAY" in Sonar ... I sure get a lot more drum notes than what the midi file is showing. It sure seems like Jamstix is merely following the arrangement... and not the midi notes in the track. Plus - I am getting nervous that the midi export didn't capture all the notes that I originally heard when I recorded the 25 bars.

From the Jamstick manual it says the following about "Manual Jam":
In the manual jam, Jamstix acts like a normal drum sound module and can be triggered via MIDI keyboard or sequence. In addition, Jamstix will play any rhythm currently selected in the rhythm tab and the settings of the control panel will affect the play choices made by Jamstix.

On one hand Jamstix will play the "sequence" ... but then it says "in addition" Jamstix will play any rhythm in the rhythm tab. So it sounds like I can't fully control the midi sequence since Jamstix will layer in extra notes.

What am I doing wrong?

Make sure the arrangement is cleared. Go to the arranger and click 'Clear All' to do that. Also, go to the rhythm tab and click the note clef symbol so it is not lit. This will mute the rhythm engine completely. Playback should now be fine.

Let me know if this helps!
