I made a mistake and did not feed jamstix with any audio/midi. No problem there though. But I noticed that jamstix still played a little here there. A kick now and then, a few snare hits etc, mostly silence though. This was in free jam mode. I wonder what triggered jamstix to play anything at all? Just want to learn...

Jamstix does not need input of any kind in order to jam. If you have it set to 'Jam With MIDI' and do not feed it MIDI data then it will jam just fine by itself. If it's on 'Jam With Audio' then the velocity slider will collapse to zero since there is no audio input. Depending on other settings (like Min Velocity), this can lead to near silence.
