I was just wondering if there would be a way to have an option not to load a kit by default. Two reasons:
First, apparently Jamstix is extending the plugin scan for some people(not myself), and I'm wondering if it has to do with how Tracktion scans, by loading all the .dll's to make sure they are legit. I don't know if other hosts do this, but there is more info in this thread:

Also, this would save us from having to wait for the kits to load twice. Now, the new beta loads kits much faster, and personally, the loading doesn't take very long. But I'm hearing some people who it does. So if they didn't have to wait for the kits to load, they could just load the kit they want to load instead of having to reload a new kit.
These aren't requests that necessarily affect me personally, as Jamstix in it's latest beta runs great for me. But maybe it will help the above situations for some people? Or maybe just have it load a "blank" kit, and then you could also build a new kit from scratch without having to just change a current mapping. But like I said, this would be an option, as some people won't want it.
Anyways, any thoughts on this Zauni? Maybe it's not a good idea for reasons I'm not seeing? If these can't get done, that's fine with me. I'm just suggesting as possible solutions to some problems.
Thanks!

The multi-threaded load should pretty much solve this as the GUI comes up fast and is usable while the sounds are loading. In addition, one can save the mapping 'Internal Silence' to 'Default' to have no sounds loaded at startup at all.
Jamstix 2 will not load any kit unless the host sends it project data (loading a saved song). Instead it will pop up a 'wizard' in the GUI to help you load a kit, song template etc. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
