I have a problem (note it is not a showstopper - just thought I would point it out) with the above combination.
I have Jamstix in "Manual Jam" mode and several different rhythms in the arranger. Normally everything works fine. However, if I switch the Mackie Controller to "instruments" mode so that the Jamstix VST is on the Mackie LED display (The controller shows the name of the current rhythm on the upper right of the LED display), when the song tries to switch to a new rhythm on playback, SX3 crashes - poof - its gone. It is 100% repeatable.
FYI - I am using Jamstix Version 1.71 along with the latest available SX3 version and the newest Mackie MCU firmware.
Has anyone else seen this? I searched the forums and came up empty. I don't know if its a Jamstix, Cubase or Mackie problem (or combination). If anyone could shed some light it would be appretiated.

Not sure what this could be. Does this also happen when ALL the rhythm names are very short (less than 16 characters)? For example, with a new, clear arrangement. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks for the response.
In answer to your question - Yes. Name length does not appear to be the issue.
Here is a step by step recreation:
1. Open SX3 and create a new empty project
2. Add Jamstix as the first VST Instrument.
3. Click the arrangement tab in Jamstix (should be in manual mode).
4. Change measure 5 to Rhythm 2
5. Put the MCU in Instrument mode (pressing the "instruments" button on the right on the MCU)
6. Press play in Cubase.
When it reaches measure 5 Cubase crashes.
BTW - I had meant to originally post this in the Cubase subsection of this board but messed up somehow - if you want to move it there - that's fine with me.
Also - this is not preventing me from forging ahead. I was simply trying things out to determine what I might be able to control in Jamstix from the MCU - that's all.
Thanks,

FYI,
I just tried the same thing in Cubase 4 and things seem to work there. I notice that the Rhythm name doesn't appear on the MCU's LCD display like it does in Cubase SX3.
