So, I downloaded the 8 meg version... Program Files menu just had two HTML -- user's manual and video tutorial. Uninstalled, downloaded and installed the full version. Same thing -- am I missing something? Generally there'd be some kind of executable to run?

Hi Wynder and welcome to the board.

Jamstix is not an executable, it is a VSTi plugin. You need a VST-host/sequencer to run it, like Cubase, Sonar, Tracktion, Live, FL Studio
etc.
