|
Hello Jamstix Users,
I'm a new Jamstix user and new to this forum, so would like to say hello to everybody. Jamstix is really great. Since I'm very new, I have some
question in regards to Jamstix and Cubase VST 5.0.
I was yet not able get Cubase VST 5.0 configured to use Free JAM with MIDI nor Audio. My configuration is as following
CubaseVST 5.0, Creamware Pulsar DSP Cards and variuos external synths and POD XT live for Guitar and Bass.
I already did work through the manual but couldn't get it to run.
Any help is welcome.
Thanks.
Keep on rockin
regards,

Can you describe the problem in more detail. What are the steps you are taking and what happens? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi Ralph,
Thanks for your fast reply.
For Cubase-Jamming with Audio-In, I did use the steps under 5.1.1
Everything works fine until step 2. The needle of audioM8 moves in sync with my play. Jamstix is configured to to sync with audio. The LED in Jamstix lights up and down. As soon as I hit play, everything is gone.
There is no input through audioM8 and the LED does no longer light.
Further more I can't hear any sounds through jamstix. I guess the problem is caused by the ASIO routing.
For Cubase-Jamming with Midi-In, I also did follow the steps under 5.1.2
The problem here is, that I can't get any singnal through jamstix. The velocity slider does not move in any direction.
Do I have to set anything special for the midi filters within cubase ?
Which host application works best (problem free) with Jamstix ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards,

Hi, my Cubase VST 5.1 days are long gone, so I don´t know if what I´saying is accurate.

Try to hit the monitor button of the channel of your audio source once again after Cubase has begun to play. It should work now.

Same as above. This time you have to create a midi-track and assign it´s output to Jamstix. As Input select "All Midi Inputs" or something similar (I´m on SX3). When you play a Midi keyboard you should see the lights and the velocitiy slider in Jamstix react. If you wish to have a track with already recorded midi data as Jamstix Input you have to make sure you´re really MONITORING this track (again try to hit the montor button of this track).

I have absolutely no problem with Cubase SX3.
Hope that helps. |

Hi Doc,
Thanks a lot. With your help, I got it to run. It's a bit tricky with the Audio-In, you have activate the audio track two times.
Both, Midi-In and Audio-In are working now.
Next step is to tweak the free jam, since I'm not happy yet with its result.
However, it works and that's very important.
Thanks again DOC, you made my day.
Kind regards,
