Hi there, sorry for the double-post, probably not the best way to get started here, but somehow posting at the end of 16 pages on the Sonar thread doesn't give me confidence that people will see this...
Anyway... new to Jamstix but not to Sonar or computer music in general. I am interested in checking out Jamstix particularly with the excellent end-of-year sale going on. I downloaded the demo and ran the installer, but Sonar simply will not recognize that it is there. I have made sure it is in the right plugins directory. I have opened the configuration menu and specifically told it to scan, and to rescan everything just in case. No luck. I did manage to get Sonar 5 to recognize it so I know it works and I can get the idea, but I would be loathe to spend the cash on it if I can't use it in the current version of my host, which also cost me a pretty penny.
Sonar 6 scans VST plugins natively, so there is no wrapper per se anymore but after searching around a bit on this forum and just to be sure I downloaded the demo of DirectiXer as well, and installed that. It gave me a 'cannot load VST plugin file jamstix demo.dll' error message. No go. So that's not really a solution either. What's up? This is a standard full install of Sonar 6 PE. Everything else works. I have tried uninstalling, registry cleaning and reinstalling. Any suggestions?
EDIT
I should have noticed this before I made this post, but there is an extremely helpful sticky about the Data Exception Prevention which not only got Jamstix working for me, but fixed another major problem, with Reaktor. Worth keeping in mind if anyone else has mystery issues! |
