My Soundclick Page
The song is called "The Madness".
I picked up an AT4040 Condensor Mic today and really like it. The only thing that is rough is being in this hotel, the mic is so sensitive unless you keep the gain down or use the -10db switch. I can hear when people on the other end of the hotel close their doors.
Anyway, vocals are just rough tracks. I'm going to redo vocals on my songs when I get back home so I don't have to reserve myself.
Also, I mixed this one a little bit different. Also used alot less compression on the mix. I didn't realize how much I'm sick of hearing everything squashed. It probably isn't quite as loud as my other songs because I didn't push the limiter as hard either... I'm trying to avoid the Cinder Block looking wav file. I havn't really had much time to do anything either due to work... Let me know what you think... |

Nice work as always Monkey!! Drumwise, I enjoyed the track a lot. Was the track done completely in JS? Are all of the fills utilized straight from JS or did you manually edit some measures in the arranger to simulate the fills??
What are you using for guitars?
I've heard nothing but good things about the 4040. Many would consider that one of the best mics available period. It's very sensitive, as are most good condensers. Are you on the road that you're recording from a hotel? Didn't mean to pry at all, I was just curious. _________________ Metal Born Again:

Yea, it's all JS. Fills and everything. I always get Jamstix to output a midi file mainly just for tweaking and such. But for the most part Jamstix hits it.
I'm using a Epiphone Baritone going into a Toneport UX2 for guitar.
Yea, I'm on the road for work and I can't stop recording. I just really enjoy doing it. Lately though I havn't had much time because of work being 7 days a week most of them 12hrs+ days. It sucks but the money is great. |

Nice tune Monkey I think I have heard some of your stuff over at the CB.net forum, always sounds nice and heavy, and thats a good thing
Tell me, are the drum samples you're using from the jamsticks drum packs, or are you using something like BFD for your sounds?
My wife just bought the jamstix jamboree bundle for me for an early christmas present, As soon as I figure out where the heck the main program file is supposed to come from, I'm digging deep into this baby |

| I have all the Jamstix packs, but I usually use my DFHS kit. It is just the sound I'm used to and I think it fits me the most. |
