I've been successfully using JS for a month now and am very happy with it. Ralph's support is nothing short of amazing as you all know, and the program is just an incredible time-saver in creating realistic tracks. No more beat by beat programming in the Cubase Drum Roll for me
Anyway, I have all the add-on paks and wondered if you folks could recommend kits you've found are useful for 1970's style rock. What I'm looking for is a kit that will sound natural (woody, nice fat snare) with guitar sounds that would fit in with Bad Company, Boston, Foghat, really any band that had that analog Pop/Rock vibe. I write all my own stuff, but do not do modern, ultra gain guitar. Just classic Marshall/Fender/Vox guitar and Ampeg bass sounds, and would like to use kits which would work in the context of a hypothetical 1970's style rock trio.
Any thoughts are welcomed! |

| I vote for the Yamaha Stage Custom kit. I think it's the default kit that comes with Jamstix. |

Personally I love the sounds in the Drumpak #2. There are a LOT of handy snares in that set that will suit your purpose well.
Most of all, I make franken-kits out of all the addons. That's really the best way to get the exact sound that you want. |

gregjazz,
I'm a non-drummer newbie with all of the add-on drumpacks and would love to load up one of your files for the type of music Augie posted. Is there any way you could post or email me one of your kits for this type of music?
I would greatly appreciate it if you would. |

I like the Yamaha Stage Customs the best too for rock.
Although lately I've changed the snare to the 14" metal and tune it up to about 20 and take the ambience and sustain down so it has more of a crack to it. _________________ https://www.facebook.com/richard.lum.music |
