im still trying to figure this out = how can you route sound to the different channels and why would you want to? i know you can route the room ambience to channel 4 but cant figure out how to hear it's ouput.
im not too good with midi - all a bit new to me. _________________ Sepiroth |

In the Mapping Tab you can specify how many outputs you want Jamstix to have.
Why would you want to do this?
The number of outputs you specify is displayed in your host.
When you have 4 outs, you´ll see 4 channels in your host mixer.
Now you can map different instruments to different outputs (e.g. kick 1, snare 2, hats 3 etc., rgis is also done in the mapping tab) in order to mix them separately later in your host, add different amount of reverb etc. |

thanks
but in sonar 4 hs you just get one host track and an associated midi track.
in the mapping section i can see that i have selected 4 outputs, but on the console screen only the first channel does anything.
im sorry - i couldnt find this in the manual - if there is som written info smewhere id be grateful if you'd point me to it. _________________ Sepiroth |

I'm not sure if Sonar Homestudio supports multiple plugin outputs. If not then none of this will work for you anyway.
Here's an example on how to use multiple outs in Jamstix:
- Go to the mapping tab and select 'Snare'
- Move the 'Output' slider to 2
- select 'Kick' and move the output slider to 3
Now let a rhythm play and look at the console. You will see channel 1 play all sounds but snare and kick and channels 2 and 3 will show signal for snare and kick as routed.
If your host supports multiple outputs you would now see the audio signal in the host split across those outputs just as in the console of JS and you could use different FX (compressor, EQ, Reverb etc.) on each channel. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
