| I am trying to download the 1.7 demo but it says I don't have enough RAM. That's crazy. I have a new computer with Windows XP. I've got 70.7 GB open space. |

70.7 gb is your hard drive, not ram.
lack of ram shouldn't prevent d/l.
how much ram, computer will tell you on initial startup? do you mean you are unable to install?? |

Okay, I've got my terms all messed up. Here are the facts (and I know the answer is probably already on this board, so I'll go hunting):
I downloaded okay. I just can't open. But I see it's a V something or other...this isn't looking good... |

Please elaborate on that one, I don't understand.
The demo installer checks your machine and complains if it has 256MB of RAM or less. How much RAM does your machine have? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I guess I don't know. I also guess that I don't know how to find out. I'll investigate and get back to you.
Thanks for keeping an eye out. |

Click Start -> Run in the Windows taskbar and type in the following:
sysdm.cpl
Click OK and a dialog will open up that shows your RAM in the last line. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks for your help. Well, that's my problem. I only have 244 of RAM. I suppose I need to add more before using Jamstix.
Thanks. |

Yes, you'll want to upgrade the RAM. A mainstream DAW today has about 1GB of RAM in order to run XP, a host and several sample-based virtual instruments (such as Jamstix) simultaneously. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Gracious.
I see you joined in 1969. Who are you? Bill Gates? I guess you hear that one all the time.
Thanks again. I love the Jamstix concept. I'm sure I'll be back sooner or later. |
