Does 1.7 release include 1.7 update of 08/28/2006?

I bought Jamstix yesterday, the 27th, and today, 28th, there is an update to 1.7
My Jamstix "about" info says I have the 1.7 "release".

Since the update is dated "after" my purchase, I was wondering if I needed to install it?
