hi!
i'm currently working on an arrangement of a song at 120 BPM, in which, for some parts of the song, the drums play at half tempo, i.e. kik in 1 and snare in 3. (normally it would be kik in 1,3 and snare in 2,4)
a "problem" that i encoutered is that, when i select most of the fills, they play at the "normal" speed of the song, and not at half the tempo... thus making the arrangement a bit "strange"
so, i was thinking: what about an option to make the fills at helf tempo? it would be sufficient to double the note positions of the fill itself.
but immediately, i also think about that, in this case, the fill would occupy two bars and not one. so, it have to be inserted another option, to play only the first or the second half of the fill itself (thus splitting the fill in two).
i hope to have been clear in this explanation...
in practice, you could halve the tempo of the fill, and choose to play either the first or the second half... moreover, by combining the same fill in two consecutive bars, the first half then the second half, you could effectively have a complete fill at half tempo... _________________ listen to my music at

Are you aware of the "fill taming" options we already have ?
- in the newest betas see manual p.54 for the following:

- In the Jam Tab right next to the Fill Frequency slider there is this green "fingerprint" style button opens a window called "Filters and Limits" offering you some more options
Hope that helps,

Could you save your example arrangement to a FXB (Save Bank in the host) and send it to support[at]rayzoon.com referencing this thread? Please also add a fill where you need it so we can see exactly what you are experiencing.
Please also specify the BPM used. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

i'll send soon...
but i don't see anyhting strange in this arrangement... why would you like to see the rhytm?
regarding what's written by ProfRhino, i know that option, but i think that the fills would play totally different either at half tempo or "without" some notes...
but i will investigate more on my idea, by exporting a midi file and manually halving the tempo of the fill alone (just ot see what's happening!! )
thanks anyway! _________________ listen to my music at

I'd like to see exactly what you are seeing. Personally, I find most fills work fine in half-tempo rhythms so it may be the way you've set the rhythm up or the BPM etc. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
