I'm kind of new to jamstix but I think this would be a nice new feature for free jam:
Instead of just having a slider for drum-fill-frequency. It would be nice to be able to program the "skeleton" of an arrangement and have jamstix generate unique content for the skeleton every time. This way you can save the best take.
Here is what I mean. A skeleton would be like this:
A-A-A-Fill1-A-A-A-Fill2-B-B-B-fill3-C-C-C-fill4
This way a guitarist would know when the fills are coming and he knows the basic sturcture/skeleton of the song. Jamstix will invent new rhythms each time but according to skeleton above. This way the guitarist can hear his song with different drumming patterns in predictable places and thus be able to choose the best randomly generated patterns jamstix has to offer.
What do you think? |

This will be possible in Jamstix 2 because it will have a section-based arranger, which lets you define sections like 'Verse, 8 bars, 2-bar pattern with fill at end'.
There will also be a 'compose' setting on each section that allows you to choose from 'Once' (the section gets composed the first time it is played and then stays that way),'Always' (the section gets re-composed all the time) and 'None' (section is left as is). _________________ Ralph Zeuner
