I don't have it here at this time but my guess is that the midi note mapping for the LM4 need to be adjusted for it to get the correct notes from Jamstix.
If you can write down a list of the notes that LM4 uses for each drum, then in Jamstix, in the mappings page, you can set the note JS sends for each drum part and then you can save a set up for the LM4 as a Jamstix preset.
If the LM4 uses General Midi Mappings... you can set GM Mappins in Jamstix and it should work ok.
Are you using the LM4 Mark II or an older version of LM4? Also what Host program are you using? |

I work with cubase sx3 as vst-host. I use LM4 Mark II with mixtended kits!
Can you send me a simple description? Sorry, but my English is not very good!

I have now been able to test the LM4 MKII with Jamstix and, yes it does work.
load JS
choose external vsti and load LM4.dll
when the GUI for LM4 shows up, use your mouse to trigger the drum pads to see if they make sound. If not then you must load sounds to them..
when you have drum sounds loaded to the LM4 so it works ok, then JS will trigger them ok.
I find that many of the fxp and fxb presets for the LM4 made by Wizoo and others do not load properly so they have to be rebuilt by hand and then resaved.
Any problem I see with the LM4 is with the LM4 itself and not with JS. On second thought, this is not exactly true and I will open a thread about it in these forums and see what Ralph has to say... it's really about a set of mappings for the LM4 and some of the LM4 special kits that are missing from JS.

Also, I believe the LM4 has 12 outputs so you must have at least 6 outputs selected in Jamstix (mapping tab). _________________ Ralph Zeuner

ah Zauni I see we crossed posts in the night... I added an edit
ok what I see about the LM4 MKII [and yes I have 16 outs available] is that the mappings for it are the problem... for example, the LM4 has two slots for diff sounding Kicks but JS only has one Kick ... so a Kick 1 and Kick2 in JS would help there...
secondly, the LM4 has some decent velocity mapped kits as addons from Wizoo... but these are not all mapped nicely to work with JS... one great example might be the Latin Percussion kits...
I realize that to map each and every LM4 special kit would be a chore, but if it's gonna be used often with JS those mappings would really help greatly. It has some strong points that could make it worthwhile... pretty low cpu use, etc. Certainly it's not the DFH nor BFD but it is also fairly decent with a good kits loaded.
So I think really this is a call for anyone interested to create and upload mapping for JS to use the LM4 kits. ...and then maybe for JS to include some naming methods [i.e., like the kick1, kick2] that could better match up with the LM4. I do see how this could be a chore... but I wonder if JS might be able to load an alternate set of mapping names just for the LM4?? [prolly a crazy idea, huh?]
Ok then... off we go |

I am trying to load some of these very same fxp and fxb presets (LM4 MKII) into SX3, and can't. I try that right click "let it find the bank/sample, etc.", and sometimes it just doesn't seem to work! This seems to be a common problem, per the Cubase forums.
Max, you mention loading them by hand. What does that entail ... is this something you might be able to describe OK in this forum?
Andrew-k, I noticed your posts in the past on this topic, it sounds like you had everything running smoothly. How did you get LM-4 MKII to "find" the samples/programs/banks, etc.?
Thanks so much
