ive made sure its not clipping in the Soar mixer or the jamstix output tab - but there are nasty crackles and pops - im using an ASIO driver with a Digitech GNX3000 - even when exported as an MP3 the sound are still there - im running a P4 3.4ghzprocessor with 2mb memory and about 280gbs free HDD space (72000rpm) i have some compressor/sonic maximiser and vst instruments running at the same time but my CPU is only at around 30% - cant think of why this is happening = any ideas??

i reset the cakewalk vst adapter and rescanned - but still the problem persists - never used to do this - most confusing! ive noticed that when jamming or playing back arrangements (even with only 1 track of audio) the cpu usage is over 40% and sometimes hits the red - does any one know why this has suddenly started happening?

im going to go away and do some yogic breathing or something and try not to throw my pc out of the window.

You need to increase ASIO latency. What is at now?

Also, please try Beta 1836 as it reduced audio thread CPU usage.

thanks for the reply - my digitech pedal is at 10ms latency at the moment - id rather not increase it further. Jamstix was well behaved before i upgraded from normal home studio to the XL version yesterday.

where can i get the 1836 version from? mine is 1816 - how big is the file? im on dial up and it took me something like 48 hours to DL the original program.

thanks

Check the audio driver setup in XL because it sounds as if the upgrade may use a different driver than your HS before or uses some other options that increase CPU load. Also, make sure you're on 16-bit/44.1kHz.

You can get the beta here, it's a fairly small file:
