Please elaborate a bit. Do you mean loading MIDI drum patterns from GM MIDI files? If so, you can use the 'Import' button in the rhythm tab for that.

Yes but will these be incorporated in a free jam? Will the brian recognize them as jamstix files?

No, free jam always generates rhythms from scratch, without templates.

However, you can import rhythms and save them to the library with a convenient key word and then have Jamstix do a key word jam on it.
