Here's the current Jamstix beta. Use at your own risk. Any feedback is greatly appreciated as it helps us shake out the bugs!
YOU MUST HAVE JAMSTIX 1.6+ INSTALLED FOR THIS BETA TO WORK.
Jamstix owners may choose to try the Jamstix 1.7 Beta instead, which comes with a full installer, including the new rhythms and mappings. See the Jamstix 1.7 thread for details.

Jamstix Owners -> http://66.235.201.50/updates/jamstix1841.zip
(Use ID and password that came with your Jamstix delivery)
Beta #1841
- implemented new jam mode "Keyboard Jam". See Beta Manual for details.
- increased limb transition time for snare ghost notes to account for stick drag time
- mapping tab output lock state is now recalled via ini profile
- selecting 'Normal' character no longer switches off shuffling
- clicking 'Free Jam' no longer clears the current arrangement
- added notice above arranger in free and keyword jam indicating that Jamstix is controlling the arrangement in those modes
- added 'Drive/Laid-Back Timing' automation parameter which allows setting a constant earliness (drive) or lateness (laid-back) of the drums
- BFD mappings now have anti-machine gun mode enabled (not included in beta)
Beta #1836
- fixed delayed playing of accents suppressed by a silent rhythm or post-fill pause
- fixed out-of-bounds 'Shaping' values from pre-1819 projects leading to audio artifacts and high CPU usage under certain circumstances
Beta #1833
- modified loading status info display to fix various issues in some hosts under certain circumstances leading to freeze during or after sample load
Beta #1831
- fixed problem with Jamstix GUI freezing in REAPER introduced in Beta 1829.
Beta #1830
- fixed close mic panning bug introduced with audio optimizations in Beta 1824
Beta #1829
- fixed GUI freeze in n-Track when closing several listboxes without selection
- fixed MIDI export tempo offset by 1BPM when the host sends tempo information in .9999 format
- fixed problem with Jamstix 'freezing' after loading first internal sample in some hosts under certain circumstances
Beta #1826
- fixed GUI freeze in n-Track when closing several listboxes without selection
Beta #1825
- fixed problem when GUI is loaded in Acid Pro 6.0a by clicking on a MIDI track with output=Jamstix.
Beta #1824
- optimized audio processing for lower CPU usage
- bars that have snare or tom accents are now shown with a black center line in the arranger
- fixed a problem that could lead to an infinite loop when using empty default mappings or missing stock sounds under certain circumstances
Beta #1820
- several hot fixes for sound sustain and ambience shaping in the last beta
Beta #1819
- improved 'Shaping' function in various ways, including suppression of clicking at high levels
- added 'Dampening' slider to the 'Ambience' control panel to simulate smaller rooms
- added voice limiter to restrict maximum voice load to around 60 (90 on min reduction level)
- overhauled voice reduction logic again to reduce audio thread CPU usage further
- fixed increasing CPU usage over time in Podium
Note: we have changed our beta naming convention to simplify things on our end. From now on, betas are named after their Build number. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Patience...
Patience...
I am practising the art of patience...
Good things come to those who wait....
I am patiently awaiting the function of snare accents to be applied and seen (as lugs) in the arrangement page...
It was promised to be in the first 'post 1.6' beta.....
Just patiently waiting...

Ralph,
The latest beta cause snap crackle pops in Cubase. The CPU meter doesn't show any problems although it is a little more eratic.

I've noticed that little bit too with Podium. _________________ darcyb62 |

If I bump up the latency it goes away. _________________ darcyb62 |

Gezzer and Darcy, could you give me your specs (CPU,RAM,sound card, ASIO driver, latency) and tell me at what latency the crackling stops?
Also, the new beta should work great with higher voice reduction settings. Please set it to level 11 (middle position) or higher and tell me if it stops the crackling. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

AMD 2800+
768 me ram
presonus inspire fw
presonus drivers
crackling/popping at 15, 2.0 and 2.5 ms.
Voice reduction didn't help at all. I wenr right to max and still had crackling/popping with 2ms latency.
To be quite honest 4ms latency is still a pretty darn aggressive latency setting. _________________ darcyb62 |

I have 10 outputs setup 16 tracks of audio with 8 tracks recorded.
CPU reading in Cubase was a nomal 35% peaking at 50%

Darcy and Gezzer, please try the just-posted Beta 1824 as it has optimized audio processing. Let me know if this fixes the crackle/pop. Also, please restart your computers after copying the 1824 DLL. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ralph, I am sorry to report that the problem still exist's. First playback I thought it was gone, but on second playback it started. CPU useage shot right up. I am going to go back to 1.61.
I did reboot after installing the new .dll.

I can get down to 1.5ms latency with absolutely no problems. CPU stays down from previous versions as well. No popping or clicking. _________________ darcyb62 |

There appears to be a problem with Jamstix in Tracktion version 2.1.0.11. With Beta #1820 things are fine, but with either #1825 or #1826 I am not able to pan any sounds right of center, except the sounds with CS in the name.

Ralph
Thank you for the 'lines' on the lugs to show that they have an accent on them.
The lines are thin and small... but they do help a lot... they give a very quick idea of what bar has or doesn't have an 'accent'
This makes the way I view the Arranger MUCH better.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You !!
