How can i get a choked cymbal or hi-hat sound and are there any degrees of semi hi-hats or open hi-hats (i.e. very full semi, light semi)

Cymbal choking is currently not available in Jamstix. We are planning MIDI support for it in Jamstix 1.6 in early May so that you can add MIDI notes to the Jamstix track to issue choking where needed.

Jamstix 2 will have choking support in the interface.

HiHats are choked by closed hats.

Sorry, I forgot that part of your question:

Jamstix has only one degree of semi hat and one degree of open hat. However, each of them has multiple velocities so that adjusting the velocities in the Jamstix interface (right-click, hold, slide up/down) will yield good results.
