I hear pops in some of the different kick samples. At first I thought this was a problem but now I'm not sure if maybe it's just they way they're supposed to be.
The DP2 Kick is the one I noticed most... if I audition it with the audit velocity down about 2/3 with the ambience on every other time I click the audit button I hear a click noise. It doesn't do it when the ambience is off. What I'm not sure about is that now I hear it on the Stage Custom as well... so I wasn't sure if this was supposed to be part of the actual kick sound or not.
I don't hear clicks on any other drum piece, and as far as I can tell it doesn't seem to be a latency issue.
Any ideas on what this is?

Ryan

The DP2 kick has a lot of beater sound mixed in with a dedicated mike but let's make sure there isn't an underlying issue. Please send me a screenshot of the 'samples' folder of your jamstix folder with all the "Kick - 22'' DP2..." samples visible to support[at]rayzoon.com

I've experienced clicks in the kick samples in low velocities, I usually just stay away from those velocities or they blend into the mix. It sounds almost like the sample doesn't start playing at the very beginning, like some of the early attack of the sample has been cut off.

Could one of you send me a MP3 with this popping?

For example, in the low velocities in the Kick 22" Standard (with ambience turned down):

I will try to find any others...

EDIT: Can't hear any problems with any of the other kick samples. There's a little bit of a click in the low velocities of the Kick 22" Long, but it may just be part of the beater sound.

Also:

Take a look at the 14" Hihat (not the HHX), there is a close mic velocity layer missing right in the middle.

In SAVIhost, I've heard clicks in at least one of the samples (can't recall which, may have been a snare or tom) towards the end of the sample. Did not seem to happen in other hosts. I assumed it was a memory management issue in that particular host, but not sure. The clicks are not present in the underlying Rayzoon sample data in the RZD files.

Even if there is a click in one or two samples, it by far doesn't match up to the amount of imperfections in other sample libraries. I own Miroslav Philharmonik and absolutely adore it, but there are some notes that are out of tune, or shifted up/down chromatically (ex. the very high notes in the Grand Piano Hall soundset). Not to diss Miro, it's really great, but granted in any sample library you're bound to find some funny noises in the sample tails, etc.

We'll definitely look into these reports and will correct samples if necessary.
