Hi all,

I've been using Jamstix for few months and really dig it. I am getting to the point of wanting to include it in some not-so-rough mixes. I searched the forums here, but didn't find anything exactly what I was looking for. My questions:

How EQ'd are the samples in the drumpaks?

How do people here typically EQ Jamstix for best results in a mix?

I got some great sounds by sending the ambience signal to output 4 and then applying some compression and mixing that in. Is this common? Are the any other ways of making the kit sound even better in a mix?

I appreciate any ideas/suggestions. I mainly record guitar centered rockish/indie/bluesy stuff.

Also if I missed a thread about this, sorry, just point me in the right direction!

Thanks,

Erik

They are not EQ'd at all except some snares and most cymbals have a bit of the low-end removed where it was too prevalent

Yes, that is a common thing to do. Specific actions to take depend on your specific song and mix. I recommend you play a bit with the 'stereo width' control in Jamstix 1.5, some mixes sound better with the drum field narrowed.
