hello
i've got cpu problems when i'm trying to audio jam using the three of them
i know that my pc config is too short(celeron 1.1ghz+1g sdram 133+usb 1.0+5400 tr/m hard drive...)
is there any trick to manage jamstix being less greedy like turning it to mono...
thank you

Hi! I also use this combination from time to time, with no problems whatsoever.

But what I found is that Toneport can be tricky with some USB ports.
I had to buy an active USB port for the use of TP on my main Recording PC (2 Gig RAM, P 4 3.2 Ghz) to prevent it from popping and clicking.
This was not the case with my (weaker) Laptop (512 MB Ram, P4 3.0 Ghz).

So this may be an option.

Otherwise you can take some pressure from your CPU when you increase Jamstix´voice reduction (in the mapping tab) or increase Toneport´s latency.

it's getting much better
i hope i'll be able tosolve all those trouble because since i've discover jamstick i can't stand anymore the drums from band in a box !jamstix sound more lively and it fits to what i've planned:playing boogie blues alone in pubs

Another little trick is this:

Change the 'Outputs' line in your jamstix.ini file to:

Outputs=2

This will save you a bit of CPU usage but you can only use the first stereo output of Jamstix.

Also, using close-stereo sounds (i.e. DrumPak #2 mappings with 'close-stereo' in the name) will save some CPU as those mappings only use 2 voices per sound versus 3 in other Jamstix mappings.

Sounds as if you unpacked the FreePak into the wrong place. You must unzip it into the 'samples' folder of your Jamstix demo folder.
