Hi everybody, Very Happy

I just received my copy of Jamstix and am a little confused for the installation. Confused

Do I have to install the older version before, then do the DEP tweak and then updating to 1.5?

Is there something else I should tweak regarding my specs.(signature)?

I hope it will run great with BFD.

Thanks. Wink

Hi and welcome to the board! Nice alias, btw Very Happy

The version you received is already 1.5. Just download and install jamstix_setup.exe and jamstix_data_setup.exe as outlined in the download web page.

The DEP tweak is a system tweak, independent of Jamstix. You can do it at any time.

Dear Ralph,

I just installed Jamstix for the first then the Data to another drive, did the DEP tweak( I selected Cubase).

But when I open Jamstix in Cubase the GUI distorts and Cubase freezes?

What did I do wrong? please?

Did you reboot your machine after installing?

You must install the data (2nd setup exe) to the same location as the first one (plugin).

Please move all files in the 'samples' folder that the 2nd install created to the 'samples' folder of the first install to rectify this.

Once Jamstix is running fine, you can move the whole Jamstix folder (must be the whole thing) to another drive and keep just the DLLs on the first drive.

Hey it is realy cool. Very Happy

I just reinstalled and everything is working fine. Thanks again Ralph. Wink

I think my dream came thru!! That's just the kind of software I need.

I have to try it with BFD Ultra in midi. (seems like no sleep tonight!)

Just another question before I do something wrong:

Can I move the Jamstix file to another drive?

As I understand it is better for the performance to separate the samples from the applications drive? Or am I wrong?

Yes, you can move it but you must move the whole Jamstix folder and just leave the DLLs behind. Next time JS starts it will ask for the new location and that's it.

You will not see a significant difference since Jamstix buffers its samples in RAM. Multiple drive use is most advantageous with plugins that stream samples.
