| Is it possible to use a midi foot pedal to control jamstix? I like how jamstix responds to midi but I would prefer hands free operation. I could be jamming on my electric bass plugged into my rig and with my feet tell jamstix to be more aggresive or to go to ride cymbal ( power play) or just to mellow out and use the sidestick. The advantage over using the audio input is that I would not have to adjust my bass playing to control jamstix.I would be responding to the drums rather than the other way around. .. What do you think? Are there any inexpensvie controllers that just send out velocity midi messages? |

You can use a MIDI volume pedal to control the Jamstix velocity. Click the page icon next to the velocity slider, check 'Use Controller' and then select the controller number of your pedal.
You can use MIDI foot switches to issue triggers, such as fills, which is done via the key assignment boxes in the fill dialog. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I figured it out with your help... using the volume peal to conrol velocity with jamstix... works great.
My other question is you mentioned you can control fills, endings ect... Can you tell jamstix to put in a random fill at any particular time using a foot switch? in other words trigger a d2 note and when it is triggered jamstix would play a fill it picked at random depending on the parameters you set for fill. |

Yes, if you specify a note under the Fill label in the fill selector dialog (right-click arranger), this note will cause Jamstix to pick a random fill based on current funkiness and complexity setting. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
