I'm planning to buy myself a Muse Receptor in the coming weeks and was wondering does Jamstix work on a Receptor?
If so, will it work with loaded VSTi's too? (i.e. BFD etc...)

At this point, Jamstix does not work in Receptor. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Jamstix has a complex UI and other functions that are usually not found in 'run of the mill' plugins. Couple this with the fact that Receptor has a Windows emulation and you can see the complexities.
We desire compatibility but it is not a front-burner task right now. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I'll jump in here. Jamstix does work on Receptor - to some degree at least.
The JS plugin installs (although Receptor may say that the install failed) and can be instantiated on a Receptor channel, and then can be used as a sound module (sample player). And it's pretty good at that (because the Receptor has almost imperceptable latency). But Receptor hangs (and auto-reboots) when going to the mixer then re-entering the JS GUI, so that changes the workflow a bit...
The big missing piece, though, is that Receptor does not provide the proper sequence start/stop info, so JS just sits on bar 1 forever. That's understandable, I suppose, since Receptor is a VST host, not a full sequencer.
It would be extremely cool to get Jamstix working on Receptor. There may be answers to this from the Muse people or from the Jamstix side. I'm certainly willing to help. _________________ Dealer for AccuGroove, Acoustic Image, BassLab, Eminence, Muse Receptor, MIDIjet, Rayzoon, and more...

| I noticed Receptor now has the Uniwire plugin. Would this make Jamstix compatible now? Tim |

UniWire allows you to use the Receptor to offload the plugin processing load from your PC. In other words, the plugins run on Receptor and the audio data transfers between your PC host and Receptor via UniWire.
So it would seem like a good idea to run Jamstix on the Receptor and transfer the audio back to the PC host, but my initial tests seemed to indicate that the critical timing information is still missing - it is not transferred over UniWire. So JamStix won't "run" on Receptor (it won't play through the arrangement).
But, for now, Receptor could host all of your other plugins (those which don't require timing info), leaving your PC host free to run Jamstix directly. _________________ Dealer for AccuGroove, Acoustic Image, BassLab, Eminence, Muse Receptor, MIDIjet, Rayzoon, and more...
