| I got the oxygen MIDI controller, it works and regsiters key hits in Jamstix. ButI'm trying to figure out how to make my own beat..I know you let the sequencer play, but when I do that in manual mode, Jamstix just goes off and does it's thing. Doesn't feel like my input is doing anything. What's the most efficient way to build a beat with the MIDI controller? |

- Go to the jam tab and switch to 'manual jam'
- Enable the metronome in your sequencer or in Jamstix
- Make sure your sequencer is running
- Go to the rhythm tab, click RESET, then click LEARN
- You now have an empty rhythm and Jamstix is waiting for you to press keys on your controller
- Listen to the metronome and start playing the beat. Jamstix will try to copy what you are playing. You can always press RESET to start over or manually change settings

| ok..gotya..thanks. this is going to be perfect. I just need to figure out my mapping..when i hit keys none of the drums sound. I got a tom to go. I have my keyboard octave set to zero. i'm sure there is something im doing wrong, maybe in BFD (i have the MIDI CC button activated) I also see the hits register in the graphs and velocities. I'm just not hearing the hits..any ideas? |

Make sure 'Map GM Input' is checked in the mappings tab. This will let you play GM style on your controller but translate to BFD mapping on-the-fly. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Also, try using the octave up and down buttons on the Oxygen. _________________ Rock softly and carry a big stick. Wait, what am I saying? Don't Rock softly. - Rock Churchill |

ok, got it to register the oxygen hits, it doesn't make a drum sound until it rotates to the next bar, but it is working and is really cool.
Was wondering...i have a beat that is bonham -esque going at around 66 bpm. The kick and snare feel real good, and the fills are nice, but I'm trying to get a nice open cymbal sound. Can you ride crashes? Im using the hi hat open to get a big sound (this is for an open chorus that is rocking), but I am wondering If I can do more and am not aware of it. So far, it is doing great, and the only error i get (which doesn't seem to affect anything) is "invalid pointer operation" I get this when I open a project that I had already started and Jamstix is set for manual mode. It does not seem to be a problem issue though. So I'm sending my 89 on wednesday. |

If you are using internal sounds, go to the mappings tab, select HiHat on the top and then select a crash cymbal sound in the sample selection box.
If you are using a drum module for sound, go to the mapping tab, select hihat, hit the key for the desired crash on the keyboard and then click the keyboard symbol next to the KEY selection box. Jamstix will now use that crash cymbal instead of the normal hihat.

Shouldn't happen so we'll have to get that fixed. Could you send us a project that does this to support@rayzoon.com? _________________ Ralph Zeuner
