Hi,

First of all, let me say I've been neglecting my wife and getting very little sleep since loading up Jamstix - I just can't stop myself! (Read... man, do I have bloodshot eyes!)

However, something has me stumped... Just last night I finally got into the Arranger panel to fool around with it. That's when I noticed that JS always starts counting at bar/measure 11, even when I've made sure the host is at bar 1, beat 1. If I delete the first 10 bars in the arranger and what was bar 11 becomes bar 1, when I hit Play in Logic, Logic counts normally but JS starts at 11 again!

This behavior is NOT observed in Cubase SE. So, it's something I apparently have setup wrong. I've been through every setting (I think) but haven't made any progress. Everything else works so well, this is driving me crazy! Thanks in advance for any assistance.

BTW, Logic RPC Pro is the software that came with the Roland Studio Pack Pro. It's version 5.1.3 running on Win XP Home.

Please follow these steps:

1) Add the line

BarOffset=10

to the [General] section of the jamstix.ini file. This will fix the offset in Logic but will mess up the position in Cubase.

2) Send me your rzdlog.txt file to support[at]rayzoon.com so we can add you host sig to a future beta that automatically offsets for Logic.

3) Take care of your wife, she's more important...

Ralph,

That sounds like a winner. I'll try it tonight and, of course, I'll send you the rzdlog file as well. I don't mind about the workaround causing an issue with Cubase SE. As it's the 'SE', I've found I don't have much use for it anyway.

Very Happy

Ralph,

(1.) Yes, adding the BarOffset=10 to the .ini file worked, thanks!

(2.) Yes, it DID cause Cubase SE to start a bar -9.

(3.) I emailed the rzdlog.txt file as you asked.

(4.) I'm going to spend some quality time with my wife, right now!

You're the absolute best in customer service!!!

Very Happy

The next beta will automatically use the BarOffset of 10 when JS is launched in Logic so you can then remove the line from the ini file and JS will be synched in Logic as well as Cubase.

Thanks for your kind words!

Ralph,

I wonder what in Logic, but not in Cubase, makes us have to do this? I mean, do you know that all Logic users have to do this? Also, is there no way to stop JS' Arranger from displaying the bars numbered -9 to 0? It's certainly no biggie, just wanted to know.

It looks as if the song position pointer info for VST in Logic is just plain messed up.
