FWIW,

I was ready to go all-in and spring for DFHS, a serious RAM upgrade, a new hard drive (and who knows what else) to the tune of $500-$600. Then I find Jamstix, which works perfectly with what hardware I have. I've always hated creating drum tracks. Fact is, it's kinda' fun but I suck at it! Jamstix has filled in that 'missing link' to my creativity. Needless to say, I feel it's a true bargain.
