Hi, a couple of questions arising from my playing with free jam mode:

1) entering free jam mode erases all currently defined rhythm patterns... is there a way to, say, lock a couple of patterns. Say for example, I do some work on a verse, get a couple of rhythm patterns that I like, but then I want to let free jam loose on the verse, without losing my patterns?

2) I read somewhere else that free jam will play the same thing if the sequencer loops over the same bars and the input is the same. Here's the thing: I've got Cubase looping over 12 bars ( 4/4 + 4/4+ 2/4 x 3), and as it runs through, I can see in the arranger that it is changing the "jam part" pattern on some bars?

3) suppose free jam has a nice bit on bar 4 using "jam part 4" that I want to copy into bar 1... I thought that all I would need to do is go to manual mode and select "jam part 4" as the rhythm for bar 1... but this doesn't seem to work - it seems what it plays depends on the bar location as well as the pattern? Have I got this right?

4) because I am using a non-standard time sig, one bar of 4/4 plus one bar of 6/4, which I am doing as 4/4 + 4/4 + 2/4, I think JamStix is getting confused and playing fills in odd places... does it do something like play a fill on 2 bars, or 4 bars, something like that? Edit: note, I have the "start bar" set correctly to the start of my loop...

To answer your question, this is an audio jam.

In audio free jam, the arrangement will change if the host loops because Jamstix cannot identify the audio content, just the volume. In MIDI mode it can analyze the actual content and thus ensure that the jam repeats identical.
