Theres the adjuster that adds more outs, but the slider in the mapping section remains at 4, and Cubase3 remains with 4 subtracks of midi. How do i add more midi outs? I've searched and seaarched, can't find answer in forum or manual..

I think you're confusing MIDI outputs and audio outputs. Jamstix has only one MIDI output (all VSTi can have only one).

What you can adjust are audio outputs. You would change that with the 'Outputs' control in the Sounds' panel of the mapping tab. Once you change it, you must restart Jamstix since the outputs have to reported to the host at startup. Also, Cubase will only create the appropriate number of audio return tracks when Jamstix is first added to a project.

In summary: to get more familiar with this, please use a new Cubase project and add Jamstix. Now change the # of outputs, remove Jamstix from the VST rack and load it again. Cubase should now show the appropriate # of return tracks.

Hope this helps.

Insane response time! Thanks Ralph.

OK did that. Cubase adds extra channels with a new project as you said.

There are my chosen 8 audio channels now in SX3, but still in the Jamstix mapping there are only 4 output channels to choose from to route drum instruments to.

Question

Make sure you are running Jamstix 1.42 (check ABOUT tab). It will let you send sounds to outputs 1 through 17 via the output slider in the mapping tab.

DOH! Rolling Eyes

All is well. Thanks!!! Very Happy 17 outs! yea!

(Just a little snafu regarding Hotmail sending Razoon's resent activation codes to the 'junkmail' section.)
