Hi,

I use Jamstix 1.42 in Sonar 5PE 5.0.1 as described in the thread "Jamstix, Sonar, External Drums & MIDI-Out", except I am using the internal Jamstix module. In fact, things worked fine in the past with exactly the same setup.

But then one day I tried an experiment where I put JMT Orchastrator in Jamstix' MIDI track to see if I can let it "learn" a drumbeat from JMT Orchastrator. I went to the Rhythm tab and clicked "Learn". All hell broke loose. Jamstix started playing so many notes on top of each other that I thought it was going to explode. I stopped immediately and removed JMT from Jamstix' track.

But now it seems Jamstix is screwed up. Even when I insert it into a new song, whenever I play, it seems Jamstix is triggering every beat multiple times on top of each other. The CPU usage spikes up and the "Load" indicator in Jamstix always shows a value that is way too high. I muted every instrument in Jamstix, and then the Load indicator goes to zero during play. I then unmute just the Kick drum, and click on Reset to clear the pattern, then add just a single Kick beat. Now when I play, every single Kick beat shows 3 in the Load indicator. it is like it triggers the same note multiple times. Adding more instruments quickly overwhelms Jamstix.

What on earth can be going on? This doesn't make any sense since the "Learn" experiment was in a completely different song, and I have since loaded up a different pattern.

Any ideas?

A load value of 3 is correct for a single sound (3 microphones).

The JMT issue sounds like a MIDI feedback loop which is hard to do in Sonar unless you are using DirectiXer with 'Send MIDI to Host' enabled. Are you doing that?

I also recommend you try the latest beta, which has a variety of changes, including MIDI feedback loop detection:

Just rename your current jamstix.dll to 'jamstix.142' or so and then copy the beta DLL from the ZIP in this thread:
