|
|
Hey folks,
I'm well and truly into running DFHS with JamStix now... What relieve for a non-drummer to not have to come up with original and convincing kit parts... Fantastic!
However I've noticed that on my latest drum track I'm getting the 'not loaded' lighted up in DFHS.
So I've outputted the file to midi, and viewed the midi file with a Superior drum map, and I see that JamStix is asking for C-2 to be triggered. However according to the DFHS drum map no drum is set to be triggerred on C-2 - it's a blank row. I realise that I can change all the C-2 hits to a valid note then drive DFHS via midi, however I'm not sure how to identify which drum it should be playing in the first place...
I've tried using all the DFHS maps available but still get the same problem. I'm running JS/DFHS/SX2.2.
Interestingly, when I first open up my project and DFHS is running (incorrectly) in 44.1khz I don't get the 'not loaded' light coming on. As soon as I 'revert' (reload) my project to get DFHS running at 96khz, the light start's coming on again. I'm not convinced that this is necessarily related but thought it worth mentioning.
Can anybody suggest anything? (I've searched the forum but with no avail).
Any help much appreciated _________________ Back Yourself

Could it be something to do with TPC or 16 bit? (I can't test at the mo as I'm not at work?)
Will give it a try tonight and report back... _________________ Back Yourself |

IIRC, the 'Not loaded' light indicates that a sound isn't cached yet. It's the 'Unmatched Key' light that would indicate a mapping issue.
When you say C-2, is that C minus 2 or C2?
C2 would be the snare of Jamstix DFHS maps.
When playing back a MIDI export of JS with DFHS, make sure to save the DFHS kit from Jamstix to a DFH file and then load that file into the instance of DFHS that you use to play back the MIDI so the kits match.
I do get 'unmatched key' light as well but all sounds fine. We'll check this out in-depth next week. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Apologies - it's the unmatched key that's lighting up.

I'm pretty sure it's the C-2 but I'll have to double check and get back to you tomorrow.

Fairly sure I did but will make sure tonight.

Things sound OK to me too but I'd like to be confident it's working properly. I notice where the hit occurs the hi-hat stops playing suggesting Jamstix is thinking about limb priority etc!
Incidentally I tried switching TPC and 16 bit on and off, and in association with the TPC16bit mapping available in the download area, but it made no difference.
Will update tomorrow - thanks for the great support as always! _________________ Back Yourself |

Hi there - apologies for leaving it so late to reply to this - been v busy.
I didn't resolve my C-2 problem in the song discussed in this thread previously, largely because things sounded pretty good and I was pressed for time.
However I've started another song and have exactly the same problem... When outputting the midi, then using the midi to drive DFHS, the midi file shows a hit on 'C-2' (c minus 2 - have checked), however there is no drum mapped to this key, and lo and behold the 'unmatched key' lights up.
When viewing the drum map in cubase sx 2.2, the C-2 appears sandwiched in between lots of other 'non-minus' keys - maybe this suggests that the drum map is dodgy?
Would it help if I send my midi file and my drum map?
Any help much appreciated! _________________ Back Yourself |
