|
|
Hi all,
after jamming with the demo I made myself a nice christmas present and bought the full version of Jamstix. It's great to do the drums for my hard rock songs, but when it comes to heavy metal Jamstix gives me some trouble. It doesn't matter what and how I play on my guitar, it just doesn't do any double bass. The box in the settings is triggered, of course. I tried different bpm settings, several things like playing open strings, palm mutes, full chords, different speeds - no double bass. What could be wrong? Thanks in advance! |

If you are referring to 32nd bass drum double strokes, Jamstix does not support those. Jamstix 2 will.
However, you can get 16th double bass in Jamstix 1.x by either programming it manually or using high complexity on the bass drum.
For best results in free jam for double bass rock I would recommend using low funkiness and medium complexity onn the main sliders and then unlocking the Funk/Comp fine-controls in the style panel and setting them:
Snare=Low Funk, Low Comp
Kick=Low Funk,Max Comp
HiHat=Low Funk,Low Comp
You may also want to set the character to 'Aggressive' and, of course, check the 'Double Bass' box in the jam tab. I'd also check 'No snare ghosting'.
You can then experiment with raising the Snare Funkiness for a more modern edge and the Snare Complexity for increased busyness if needed. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| just tried that in the demo (i only increased the complexity and funk of the snare a bit, with agressive playing style) with a free audio jam and i gotta say it works! |
