I am using windowsXP, Cubase LE,E-mu 1820m.I have my guitar in input#1 mic A on the 1820m.I have AudioM8 on the insert of the track i set up in the project window of Cubase LE.I am getting a good signal from Jamstix. When jamstix loads, it loads in INTdefault mode,I am able to jam in that mode. But i then try and load DFH Superior FF 600mb.rdm or one of the other DFH kits.I am not getting any sound when i try this. It seem to be playing ,but without sounds.I press the Load Icon in the mapping page, the load window opens i double click on the Drum Kit i want.I then close the window.I notice that the Drum Kit i want to use gets loaded in the mapping page under the Save & Laod Icons. So i think I'm loading Jamstix the right way,but you never know.
I am also not able to get the Jam start/stop to work right. This gives you a drum count in right?.I thought that if you high light the box right next to the Jam start/stop in the mapping page and then press start in cubase LE and then press the piano keys icon Next to the Jam start/stop in the mapping page of jamstix, that you got a count in.I don,t think i am doing it right, I can not get it to work right. Any help would be great thanks.
There is now more problems. When i play guitar in default mode i notice the velocity will keep going up when i stop playing the guitar. It will light up red in the input saying i am playing guitar when i am not and the velocity will get higher |

You're doing the right steps. Please press 'Configure VSTi' after loading the DFHS mapping and see what the RAM load in DFHS at the point is. Also, what version of Jamstix are you running?

Not necessarily. You use it as you outlined by running the host and then hitting the MIDI key assigned to jam start/stop. Jamstix will now play an intro on the next bar and, if there are free beats before the intro, it will play drumstick counts on them.
What exactly happens for you when you hit start?

Never heard of this one! What does the audioM8 needle show when the velocity slider creeps up? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I try pressing configure Icon after i load DFHS.I get a message saying Access violation at address 0CA1C007 in module jamstix.dll.Read of address 00000038.I then press ok.Then a blank configure VST window opens. The only thing on this window is on the bottem it say close/presets/load/save,it also has L/R snare/rough snare/L/R toms/stay on top,but the rest of the window is blank.I try these icon at the bottem of the screen, another screen open but i will not give me anything to load.
The version i am using is release 1.42. |

Do you have toontrack DFH Superior installed on your system? If not that would explain the error because the mapping is of course useless without DFHS. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

P.S Dosn,t DFH superior drums kits come with jamstix automaticly with the pruchase of jamstix? |

toontrack DFH Superior is a $300 drum library/player that is not related to Jamstix and Rayzoon at all. Please visit www.toontrack.com to learn more about DFHS.
The DFHS mappings that come with Jamstix are merely provided as a convenience for users who have DFHS and wish to integrate Jamstix with it.
DrumPak #1 comes with Jamstix and will give you improved sound quality versus the default Jamstix kit. Simply go to the mapping tab and load any mapping that starts with 'DrumPak #1...' to use those sounds. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Well that explains why DFH superior is not working, i don,t have it.Thanks for the heads up.I am a blues/rock guitarist and i am trying to build a midi drum library.I am wondering if drumpak#2 is good for blues & rock.I will eventuly buy DFH superior custom & vintage pak.the problem right now is $$$.So i will make do with what i got,but i would also like to add drumpak#2 if it is good for rock & blues as the price is right.
AS for the other problems.

I am jamming in free jam.I highlight the count in next to the Jam start/stopWhen i hit the start icon in the host it gose right into drumming mode.It dosn't give a count in or wait for me to press the Keys icon next to the Jam start/stop.I think the problem might have to do with the arrangment window.Do you need to put an intro on the first bar in the arrangment window for the count in to work in free jam?Do i have to do anything in the arrangment window for count in to work?
What do you mean hitting the midi key assigned to jam start/stop.Do i set up a midi track in the host and the midi key i assign in jamstix start/stop i play it on my midi controler in the host to start the count in even if i am jamming with Audio?.I hope i explained well enough.thanks for your help. |

It depends. Please listen to the audio demos on this page to form your own opinion: http://www.rayzoon.com/drumpak2.html

If you use audio jamming then please do this:
Make sure the Jamstix has been fine-tuned for your audio volume and play style. Simply let the host run, play and watch the Jamstix velocity slider. It should just hit the right side only when you play at your loudest volume. You can control this with the input trim knob at the bottom of Jamstix. You can have even more fine-control to model a 'sweet spot' with the input velocity map in the mapping tab.
Once this is all good, stop the host and check the box next to 'Jam Start/Stop' in the jam control panel.
Jamstix will now wait with a jam until the audio volume reaches a certain level, play an intro and start jamming.
Play your host and keep quiet on your instrument. Jamstix should not jam and a red LED next the jam controls on the bottom of Jamstix should flash. Make a sound with your instrument and the LED will go off and Jamstix will start the jam.
Hope this helps! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

That can't be done at this point. It's either wait for volume or start right away (with no intro). _________________ Ralph Zeuner
