It should be as simple as setting the MIDI input on the Jamstix MIDI track to the source you'd like to use and switching to MIDI jam mode. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi Ralph, thanks for replying.
Should I see the MIDI-IN light blink like I see when using Reaper? I don't see it in FL Studio.
Thank you very much! |

Not sure about FL Studio but you may have to enable monitoring in FL on the Jamstix MIDI track. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| I was able to get the midi input light to blink. It happened by accident either after a reboot or a new project, I don't remember what or which. If I figure out what happened I'll report back. Thanks again for this great software! |

|

Now that FL Studio supports time signature changes (since version 20), I'm wondering if there's any chance of setting Jamstix to "talk" to the DAW accordingly?
I absolutely LOVE Jamstix, but, as of now, it's impossible to sync to songs in 5/8, 6/8. 7/8, 19/16 etc etc. in FL Studio.
If anyone can provide some guiding light, it will be much appreciated! |

5/8, 6/8, 7/8, has been possible for years in Jamstix. In fact, it can do up to 9/4 or 18/8. Have you tried and something didn’t work?
Or maybe I am misunderstanding. _________________ Core i7 4712QM, 16GB, Cubase 9 Pro on Windows 10. Scarlett 2i2. M-Audio Axiom Pro 61. Komplete 8. Jamstix 3.6. Absolute 3 VST. 418 Carrier Landings.

| I don't use FL so I can't offer specifics but you have to have corresponding time sig change markers in FL. Jamstix follows the Host, not the other way around. |

First, thanks for your time, Azimuth
Well, that's the problem: whenever we change FL Studio's time signature, it doesn't seem to communicate that change to Jamstix properly. It is VERY strange and makes no sense whatsoever.
I don't believe the problem is in Jamstix but on the DAW itself. But what I'm searching here, desperately even, is if anyone knows of a workaround to make FL Studio communicate properly with Jamsitx. |

Hi, Jas! Thanks for your time
i'm trying to setup FL Studio to properly communicate with Jamstix, because altough the DAW recently offered support for "different" time signatures, it doesn't seem to be able to sync with Jamstix when it is set to any of those odd time signatures.
I've had no luck seeking help on the DAW's support forum, so I thought that maybe anyone around here knew of a workaround or an alternative way of setting up Jamstix or FL Studio. |

| In Jamstix Options>General Options do you have Allow Time Sig Changes enabled? |

I don’t think Jamstix OR the host communicates the time signature back and forth. That is why the time signature MUST be defined independently in Jamstix AND the host. Each part (in the song sheet in Jamstix) must have it’s time signature defined correctly and, in the host, the time signature must be defined THROUGHOUT the song correctly. Whenever the time signature changes there should be a corresponding change in the host at the correct point. _________________ Core i7 4712QM, 16GB, Cubase 9 Pro on Windows 10. Scarlett 2i2. Yes, sir. I've read the Manual twice, so this was the first thing that I've tried. But thanks again! |

Hi, Jas! I've been using Jamstix for the past year, so I have read the Manual and followed the instructions thoroughly. The problem I'm mentioning is something that have eluded me and, so far, nothing in the Manual could help me. |

Please do a 'Save Song' in Jamstix and send me the resulting file. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Will do, Ralph. Do you have any preference of time signature or setup? |
