so I think this step is not quite correct in your instructions above:
| Quote: | 10) Copy this new \ProgramData\Jamstix4 folder and its contents and add it to the folder where the offline package was saved to. Place a copy of the Jamstix manager app in the folder also.
This folder now contains a complete offline installation package. When you go to use the offline install in the future, remember to place the \ProgramData\Jamstix4 folder back where it belongs before running the manager app to reinstall offline. Make sure you disconnect from the Internet before doing the install. |
Basicallly I uninstalled it completely, and made sure that nothing related to Jamstix was left behind in ProgramData, and Program Files. Then run Jamstix manger again (while disconnected), this time I clicked install button and it did a full install without complaint.
So I think the previous time when I had to do "repair" was actually because I placed that stuff in ProgramData as you said to do in step#10, which is why it complained that it was already installed even though it wasn't. Doing "repair' forced it all back in there anyway, but why did you feel it was necessary to manually copy that info into ProgramData before running the offline install? Just want to make sure I am not missing something. |

Yes you are correct, copying the Jamstix4 folder to \ProgramData before installing is unnecessary, the installer does that on it's own. I typed those steps from memory and obviously was wrong on that one for some reason. I'll update the steps to correct that.
I also found out that you can do an offline install package for the Free version if anyone wanted to. |

I tried the 4.4 demo a while ago and fills weren't working. I could see the drums on the kit being struck, but no sound was coming out o.O
I can't really try the 4.5 beta, it doesn't show up in the downloader/manager even if using betas is checked
It's a hard issue to search for on the forum with such vague/open terms finding the same messages |

@Koldunya_
Did you try turning on "Downmix" in the Mixer window? |

No. I'm installing it again right now and trying again. I just had another idea on what could be the problem |

yeah ignore me, bad brain day. It's an issue with mapping to different keys. I have Extinction Level Event from Spectre Digital, and it has several mappings to choose from, the issue is getting them and Jamstix aligned, and Jamstix will have MANY kits to choose from for say, Addictive Drums 2.
And like, I know ELE has a 5th tom, and Jamstix will show a 5th tom, but nothing is triggered by it so it seems like I just need to experiment and do some remapping, which is fine.
Time to go buy. This is one of the RARE VST2 plugins I will buy in 2024/2025. I really hope there is a VST3 update, I feel like I read somewhere that was on the horizon after some rare 'sign of life' but tbh I don't remember. |

We've all been there before. I'm not familiar with that VSTi but you can set the Kit output mapping in Jamstix to General MIDI if that is what it uses. Feel free to ask if you've got any questions. |

| Just wondering whether (after 3 years) this beta should be considered stable? I'm currently on 4.4.6, and seeing as there's no update likely, I'm looking at archiving material (including OS disk images) and perhaps I should include the last version. |

Judging by Azimuth's replies it seems it has been pretty stable, and I'm running it with no problems on Windows 11 in Bitwig, others are running it in Studio One.

The only drum program I have that even remotely worked with GM mapping was Ugritone Drums, and even then the first tom was a hat lol.
I ended up ditching ELE for Krimh Drums from Bogren, and just manually built a kit, used MIDI Learn in Kontakt/Krimh, then saved the MIDI mapping in Kontakt/Krimh, and the Kit in Jamstix. Everything is basically great, now. |
