Hi Ralph, I just upgraded (from a several months old version) to 4.4.3 and recomposition is now completely broken, unfortunately. Whenever I press "recompose" (in "full" recomposition mode), I end up with exactly one bar (the one that was active) and all others are emptied.

Please help, this is preventing me from making music.
How can I downgrade to a working version?
The Jamstix Manager, as convenient as it may seem, is a very problematic tool in this regard, as it doesn't seem to allow me to revert to the old version if there is a problem. I don't see any alternatives on the rayzoon download page either.

Please do a 'Save Song' in the project that does this and send me the file. I will get you back up and running quickly.

We were having some recomposing issues with an earlier release, which seemed to be fixed (still not seeing any problems here). What DAW are you using? Can you try some different projects and see if it is in a particular style, or drummer? Is it in Groove, Accents, Fills or all of them? You could also send ralph some logs to help troubleshoot. Unfortunately, I don't know of any way to revert to an older version. Hopefully, Ralph will reply soon (oh, actually replied while I was typing!).

An example of a song where this happens is this:
https://www.power-xs.net/opcode/temp/gone.j2d
The part called "Verse 3" was already "recomposed" and therefore is mostly empty.

I have also tried loading several old projects and the problem occurs in all of them. Full Groove recomposition composes only 1 bar and empties the rest. I use mostly Custom Rock and Lars, but it also happened with other combinations.

I am using Cubase 10.0.40 on Windows 10.

To clarify: the empty bars do not get composed on my machine when they get played; they remain empty.

I loaded your song file and do see the empty bars in Verse 3 but all I have to do is hit 'Recompose' while I'm on a verse 3 bar and they all populate.
Could you send me the Cubase project?

I have created a minimal Cubase project here:
http://www.power-xs.net/opcode/temp/jamstix/rayzoon.cpr

I have also recorded a video of me creating the project, which shows how recomposition behaves on my system:

Thank you, this is very helpful. Please use 'Email Tech Support' in the manager tool to send me the logs. Thanks!

I see you have 'Composition Multi-Threading' disabled in the options. Does it make any difference if you turn it on?

No, I turned it off only to see if it makes a difference, since it's a new feature.

This is so odd and we've been unable to replicate it here, so we need to bug you just a bit with different things to try to narrow it down. if we can't fix it by tomorrow, we'll devise a way to get you back to your previous version. Btw, do you remember what version you were on?

Also, please try this:

- new project
- add jamstix
- click 'Create Song' in song builder
- check that all bars are composed in 'Verse 1'
- click 'Recompose' on a bar in Verse 1 and see if all barsare still composed

Thanks!

I tried it: All bars were initially composed, but after I pressed 'recompose' on bar 4, the other bars disappeared.

Looking at the version history, a version that must have worked for me was probably 4.3.1.

Yes, I see 4.3.1 in some of the log files.

Okay, we'll chew on this and get back to you tomorrow. Thank you!
