Hi Ralph,
I've tested the RC in Cubase 6 64bit and found the following things:
2 bugs:
1. The hits of the Connective Pattern in Jamcussion are not dispayed correctly in the bar editor, when the limb is set to Perc1L, the hits don't appear in the bar editor, when the limb is changed to Perc1R, the hits appear in row L2, limb Perc2L -> row R2, limb Perc2R -> row L1, limb Perc3L -> row R1, limb Perc3R -> row L3. Sometimes the hits of the Connective Pattern are played with two limbs (e.g. when the style is set to gallop), but it's still not correctly assigned.
2. I've added some hits in the 'Jamstix Classic' grid on a 7/4 groove. I found that neither the kick notes nore the snare notes on the last 2 16th are displayed in the bar editor, but I can hear them, so they are there.
A strange behaviour on the mixer menu:
most of the time it does not open when clicking on the button on the left side of EQ/Comp/Echo, but sometimes it does and I have no idea under what conditions it does or does not, could not find a law for this behaviour.
And a few -more or less- cosmetic issues:
1. Having the font size set to 125% due to the full HD-Display on my notebook some labels or texts are cropped, for example the labels 'Preview', 'Lock Output', 'Lock Mixer' and 'Keys Only' in the Kit Browser and long style or player descriptions.
The cursor is displayed on wrong locations in editable fields, e.g. when editing a part name it's shown somewhere in the middle of the word, but when you press backspace you see that it's actually placed behind the last character.
Please try setting your font size to 125% and you will see.
2. For my taste the red crosses on the skipped hits could have thicker lines to be better visible, I can hardly see them.
3. I've loaded 'Jamstix Classic' via 'extract from other style' and added 'Active', 'Prriority', 'Power' and 'Bias' to the Kick-tab. There are some empty areas inside the Kick-rectangle then, which seem to be quite a waste of screen space.
Besides that: great work. It's good to be able to use Jamstix with a 64-bit host without the hassle of using some kind of bridging. I appreciate your efforts, thumbs up.
Greetings from Germany

| The last version I have installed is 3.3.0. Will I be able to install 3.5 over that version? I always seem to have a heck of a time installing the updates and keeping everything straight. Thanks! |

Milt: I recommend you make a backup copy of your current Jamstix3 folder, then install 3.5 over your install and it should work fine. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Check link file C:\Users\<my-username>\Documents or reinstall Jamstix." | Hi Ralph, would you be able to look at this please? I was able to run JS3.3 as non-privileged user without any problem (apart from those associated with running a 32-bit plugin in a 64-bit host). I do not want to have to run Cubase as Administrator, so this would be a show-stopper for me. |
I have a couple of programs that have to be run "As Administrator." Here's a solution, if you're interested.
For Cubase, put a shortcut in the Taskbar if you don't already have one - R-click on the icon
R-click on the program name "Cubase" and select "Run as Administrator"
It should remember that setting. |
