The difference in quality between DFH and MetalPak sounds isn't anything to do with it being more 'hifi'- both have high quality samples taken from great kits. The major difference as I see it is Jamstix has a smaller sample pool for round-robin-style sample switching and (correct me if I'm wrong) no velocity layers.

MetalPak sounds have 3 to 6 velocity layers and up to 2 alternate samples per layer. For example: the Porkpie snare head hit sound has 6 velocity layers of 3 samples each.

Interesting, it just doesn't sound like it to me.

For those who said they didn't like the DFH expansion, here's the standard kit (though with my own mixing and not the default pieces), with Jamstix just playing a straight 8th-rock style (John drumming).
