1. Cymbal control
In the Rhythm tab you can control on what beats of the bar the kick, snare, hihats and toms are hit but not the cymbals. .
It would be good to have the same control for the cymbals as sometimes you want to do a cymbal hit on a specific beat for an accent.
I realise you don't really have much screen real estate left...

Yes, that is one of those things. We could hardly justify the real estate for the tom panel and it's always a battle between complexity and easy of use. But definitely see the point!

This is probably a dumb idea, but I'll toss it out anyway.

How about including Crash A, Crash B, etc. in the existing hihat pulldown menus on 1, 2, 3, 4 and the +s? That would require no additional real estate and yet provide some control of cymbals. I guess I'm assuming that a real drummer would not hit a hat and a cymbal at the same time (or that this would be an acceptable compromise), but I'm not a drummer, so I have no idea. The existing cymbal sliders could control additional cymbal usage.

Thinking along this same line, it would be nice to see control of percussion and other kit pieces included as well (perhaps with cymbals as a subset/special case), with its own grid of 1, 2, 3, 4, and +s similar, but separate from, the hihat grid. But if I were to do that, I would think about a whole rewrite of the Rhythm tab GUI ...

Oh well, it was a thought.

As a fellow non-drummer, that doesn't sound like such a dumb idea to me. I know if that feature were there, I'd be using it. Smile

It's not a bad idea at all. Thanks, we'll be chewing on it...

Hey, who told you that??? Cool

It wasn't me. I think I accused you of being software once! But you obviously don't have a "mute brain" button... Razz

Extended cymbal controls have been added in the X4-18 beta
