FYI, Scottieboys problem with the toms has been fixed via e-mail. It was just an issue of multiple output routing.

Ralph,

The behavior of the start bar setting seems to be strange in Reaper. I started a new project and the start bar was set to 81! When I set it to zero, Jamstix behaved as expected. Are there any conditions in which the start bar is automatically set, like if you started out in manual jam, which is the default I think, and then switched to free jam? Or is the start bar always set manually by inputting a number?

Thanks,

John

The start bar gets set when free jam or KWJ is used but it should be zero in a new project. I'll check that out next week.

Ralph,

Yes, if I go straight to the arrangement tab after inserting Jamstix into a new Reaper project, the start bar is zero. When it got set to 81, I had mistakenly started out playing along with it set to manual jam. Then I switched to free jam, had no fills, then I discovered that the start bar was 81. Everything is probably working ok, I just don't know how the start bar gets set.

(edit: Actually, I think most of my problems with Jamstix have resulted from not understanding how manual jam works, and from starting out in manual jam when I thought I was in free jam. If you start fresh in manual jam and play along with it, you get fills and no steady rhythm, as I complained about in another message somewhere. The multipage UI _is_ a little confusing, because things on different pages interact with one another, but most of my problems have been due to my own obtuseness. I am having a good time with Jamstix now. I even like the epack, which really changes the whole sound and feel. The strong point of Jamstix is realistic drumming, but the epack lets you do credible electronica and ambient too.)

Thanks,

John
