Sorry if this is discussed elsewhere on the forum - but what's the best way for us Mac users to stay abreast of news of the OSX version of JS4 being released, aside from coming back here every day to check? Is there any type of email list we can sign up for? Or is there a certain thread here in the forum we should subscribe to?

Thanks.

Agree with StPete - mac user keen to upgrade to JS4.

How do we stay up to date, and how long do we think it will likely be before a Mac version?

Thanks

We will send an email notification via our list server when JS4 macOS is available. There will also be an announcement in the forum when the public Beta begins.

Ok I'm almost ready to bite the bullet for upgrade.... One quick question. With Jamstix3 I would create and edit my drum tracks and then record to a separate track SSD4. Will I be able to do the same with Jamstix4 as i did with Jamstix3?
Thanks
André

Hi Andre,

It will work like that for you. I think you'll probably find it even better than JS3 was.

Official release of Jamstix 4.2.0 is now out. Just run the manager to update.

  • added new drummer model 'Gavin' and associated kit 'Gavin'
  • added bar wrapping mode to groove importer so imports can be adjusted to different time signatures
  • added 'Condense Parts' to song builder. If unchecked, sequential parts of same type are no longer condensed to a single part
  • style and player presets are now recalled from song project
  • improved multi-selection of parts
  • overlay dialogs can be made nearly transparent by holding CTRL and SHIFT keys
  • added 'AfterTouchChoke' command for output mappings for 3rd party plugins that support that mode
  • if 'Install AI files only...' is checked, all kits now automatically load in 'MIDI output only' mode
  • added 'Custom Percussion' to Brain menu -> Add
  • added '16th' modes to 'Connective Pattern' for Jamcussion Brain menu -> Add
  • added 5 new EZX output mappings (Big Rock, Indie Folk, Made Of Metal, Progressive, 70's Rock)
  • added player preset 'Power Play' for model 'John'
  • enabled brain element 'Freeze' for composing brain elements
  • fixed license issue with MetalPak drummers when AIPak is not present
  • fixed groove importer considering wrong time signature during import in projects with multiple time sigs under certain circumstances
  • fixed information text for 'Jamstix 1' style
  • minor adjustments to 'Simon', 'Roger', 'Mel' and 'Steve' kits

This Update seems to have corrupted the 3D Drumkit display....all kits have a broad Horisontal black line through the middle ? Same on two different PCs ?

Hi Rocles,

I just updated both of my computers (1: Win 10 & Reaper, non-APS mode & 2: Win 7 & Reaper, APS mode) and do not see any issues with either one. Perhaps try to do an installation repair in the Manager for your installs and send your logfiles to Ralph for him to check out. Keep in mind things might be slower than usual due to OSX beta work and Hurricane Florence.
