|
|
Jamstix 3.6.5 Beta 1 (Windows) is now available. Windows users will find it under the update section of their download page. Aside from several enhancements, this update fixes the recent 'floating point' errors users have been reporting after certain Windows patches/updates.
Changes From 3.6.1
- fixed floating point error on some machines with certain Windows patches
- fixed hihat opening controller assignment reverting to #4 on project load
- fixed MIDI export using hihat opening controller #4 regardless of value in kit
- fixed panning issues with CS sounds
- added hihat opening controller assignment to 'Show MIDI Controllers' in the brain menu
- program changes and MIDI controllers are now ignored if they are not on the selected MIDI control channel

| I assume Win10 is non-compatible? At least that is my experience and I don't see anything in the forum to contradict that. |

Yes,Thanks - that is what another has reported in the Reaper forum. I will have to go back and take a closer look to see what went wrong.
I have the recent JS beta update installed and it was working in Reaper. But that was before the Reaper 4 update - I think??? Right now it starts to load JS and then just freezes reaper. I have to "x" out and shut down Reaper. |

| Hi JMD, I'm running Win 10 x64 with Reaper 5.0 RC14b and Jamstix 3.65 beta1 just to let you know the specifics of what is working. |

"Reports of JS death in Win 10 have been slightly exaggerated" with respect to Mark Twain.
I fixed it. It was a problem with my Avast antivirus which was blocking JS.exe and then moved it to quarantine. Trusting the app, I told Avast to restore it and ignore any future scans. |

Hi Ralph,
Is this version out for Mac as suggested in the latest holiday e-mail? Happy Holidays btw, one and all!
If so, JamstixManager on Mac has yet to be updated, it still shows 3.6.1 "up-to-date" as the latest version available.
Cheers |

I know, but, from the holiday newsletter...
| Quote: | | Finally, we've also just released an update for Jamstix 3 to version 3.6.5 with several fixes and enhancements. You can get the update for free from your download page. If you using an older trial version, please grab the new 3.6.5 trial version from our site. |
If it's just Windows, cool, no worries.
Here are the release notes, and only the first two points mention Windows, so I was curious...
| Quote: | Version 3.6.5 - 11/27/2015
- WINDOWS: fixed floating point error on some machines with certain Windows patches
- WINDOWS: fixed load issues with certain characters in user name
- fixed hihat opening controller assignment reverting to #4 on project load
- fixed MIDI export using hihat opening controller #4 regardless of value in kit
- fixed panning issues with CS sounds
- added hihat opening controller assignment to 'Show MIDI Controllers' in the brain menu
- program changes and MIDI controllers are now ignored if they are not on the selected MIDI control channel |

Sorry for the confusion. We pushed out 3.6.5 to PC only because of the importance of the Windows 10 fix in it. The OSX patch will follow soon. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I downloaded the Jamstix3_setup.exe file in my downloads page thinking it was an update to the 3.61 beta I have installed. However when I tried to install it the installer complains that it can't read the source file "c:\jamstix3\bin\jamstix3.d64"
I checked the file system and the file exists. I even tried to run the installer as admin and it failed to run.
I'm not sure if I need to install this update or not.
Guidance please. _________________ Tom |
