Yes, it's working fine in 8 Pro for me too. I've only tried running it via midi input so far. I'll mess with it and see if I can figure out how to do the audio input in Samp. I bet it has something to do with Samp's software monitoring...
I'm licking my chops on having Jamstix spit out a midi file into Samp for some object level edits and then doing a DFHS bounce. This is gonna be GREAT.
Looks like Ralph is ushering in the age of "smart sequencing"! |

Hmmm...I may be misunderstanding. Are you asking if audioM8 works in Samplitude? Good question and we're deferring to Sekim, our unaffiliated, resident Samplitude professional _________________ Ralph Zeuner

The AudioM8 plug doesn't work in Samp 7.23a but does work in Samp 8.1. Just do Software FX monitoring for the channel you put the plug. However, I haven't had a chance to see if it's even necessary to use it for audio based jamming, I'll post when I get a chance to try it...
[edit] AudioM8 does work in Samp 7.23a when I tried it today (4/16/05). I'm not sure if M8 changed or if I originally had another problem, but regardless, AudioM8 is working. However.... the timing due to midi issues in Samp 7.23 makes JS pretty much unuseable in 7.23 IMO. The timing is much, much better in Samp 8 and JS works well in Samp 8.
If anyone has JS working well in Samp 7.23 please post your Samp setups! |

After some experimentation, I found Samp buffer and trackspeed setting that have JamStix performing very smoothly in both Samp 7.23 and 8.11.
Settings for Samp 7.23 are here: http://www.geocities.com/skitron/downloads/JS_in_SAMP723.gif
Settings for Samp 8.11 are here: http://www.geocities.com/skitron/downloads/JS_in_SAMP811.gif
Set ASIO as low as possible. Adjust settings as needed for your system, mine is a 3.2GHz P4 as a reference. You'll likely want to use a 44/24 bounce of your wet mix to use for this purpose since the buffers are so small - they won't handle much in terms of tracks and FX's.
I've also built a midi routing plugin which can be loaded into JamStix instead of a drum dll. This alows you to run Jamstix on one track and DFHS on another and record the JS midi output while listening to the DFHS sounds. This allows for a very easy way to do the DFHS bounce to audio.
Plugin and instructions are here: http://www.geocities.com/skitron/downloads/MidiRouter.zip
Of course no guarantees, use at your own risk, yadda, yadda...

Hey, that sounds great. Very generous of you. I'll sure give it a try

I just gave your plugin a try in Samp 8.11. Unfortunately I cannot use your .dfh file since I only have 1 gig of ram, so I had to slim the kit further down. Anyway, I was able to route the midi out from jamstix to dfhs but it seems like the timing isn't right or in other words it doesn't really sync. I am using the Maple virtual midi port btw.
A question, why are there two midi devices available for setup in the midirouter plugin? I have only used the first one, is that correct?
Thanks for your work

Ah, looks like I (or rather Samp) had problems with your example .vip. I just tried it in a new vip and now the sinc is fine. Excellent Sekim |

You only need to use the first one for this.
The second one is there for whatever someone would dream up. Who knows? Perhaps record midi on 1 and play a hardware module on 2?
To do this you could use Ralphs DFHS GM map, then change the drum module to the MidiRouter drummer.dll.
Glad to hear it worked! (and sorry about the example VIP problem...)
BTW - I put a note in the instructions about the extra port and the example vips. |

| The files mentioned aren't available at the links in Sekim's post. Does anyone else have these files? I'm having a bit of trouble getting things to work in Samplitude. |

The MidiRouter is available on the Rayzoon Downloads page.
