HI i am using cubaseLE,e-mu1820m,jamstix.I have just formatted my computer.I have updated everything.I have tryed to set up two audio tracks one for my guitar and one for the AudioM8 plug-in in jamstix, this is so i can use free jam with audio.I put the AudioM8 plugin in the effect insert of the second track.I have the signal of the guitar comming from my first track, but i can not get a signal from the AudioM8 audio input needle. There is no signal getting to AudioM8 plug-in.if i play cubase i can still here the drums and my guitar playing but i am not getting the audio signal from the audioM8 plug-in or the little red square in the bottem right hard corner of jamstix(audio input signal)is also not flashing red, meaning no signal is comming in.Please help me get my Audio input signal

Why don't you put audioM8 as an insert effect on your guitar track?

I have tryed that also.I still do not get an audio input signal.I am wondering, i just installed directX. It was not installed, will that cause audioM8 to not work right?.I am trying it as we speak.

I tryed installing directX and it did not help.

i just ran a few more tests.I am able to get it to jam with midi in the same song that the Audio input is not being received.I have EmulatorX playing piano with midi.I setup another midi track and set the midi in & out for jamstix in the second track, all went well.It plays fine with midi.I also just wanted to let you know that i am getting an audio signal in cubaseLE and in my E-mu1820M sound card. The audio input signal stops at Jamstix.

Hmm have you selected JAM WITH AUDIO in Jamstix (down the right corner of the Jamstix window) then?

Yes i have it set to( jam with audio),It's in the bottem right next to jam with midi.I am following the manual to a tee as far as i know.I have bean recording for 4 or 5 years.I know my set up pretty good.I have had jamstix working before i formatted to some extent, but the reason i formatted was i was have trouble with cubase LE and i was using Jamstix also and i was getting two error message. One saying cubaseLE needed to close becuase an error occured(not sure why) and the other saying A serious error occured and i should save my song under a new. This i why i formatted.I am really stumped.I hope i can get this Fixed.

Dose anyone eles out there use jamstix with Cubase LE without any problems.

The audioM8 needle needs to move if it is the insert effect on an audio track that is receiving signal (either recorded or live with monitor on). If it doesn't then you have an elemental issue with audio routing in your Cubase config. Not sure what it can be but audioM8 is about the simplest VST plugin you can imagine, it is definitely not the cause.

Have you tried it on a track with a recorded audio signal?

I just tryed it on a guitar track i recorded. It works great. The input signal comes though prefect. You can see the red light input signal in the bottem right light up and i get an input signal in the AudioM8 plug-in,but i still get nothing in the audioM8 input signal detecter if i try it with a blank audio track, set with AudioM8.I do get the input signal in cubaseLE and the E-mu 1820M.
I have try to system restore(going back to my first program install) with no luck.I am wondering if i missed something when i did the format of the system(small glich or something). This is just a guess.I am not to sure what to do at this point.I have just started to reinstall everything. So i am not to far in.So i could format again, but is this were the problem lies. You were saying something about my audio routing in cubase(elemental issue with routing)what do you mean.

Okay, so the audioM8 needle moves if you play a pre-recorded audio signal but it doesn't move on a live audio signal. That clearly indicates that monitoring is not working normally. Unfortunately I am not familiar with LE at all, only SX. Hopefully another LE user can shed light on this.

If you still think that audioM8 is the problem, try another plugin that produces visible output in response to the audio signal (tuner, graphic EQ etc.) and plug that in instead of audioM8. I bet it doesn't work on live audio either. I would then recommend you post in the Cubase forum to get advice on how to get monitoring working.

I would not format or reinstall anything. I think this is just a config issue.

Well i have posted over at the other forums.I am still wait for a response on how to fix this problem.I just thought that i should let you know that i have try jamstix it with another recording program(Cubasis VST4.0) and everything works fine.So we now know it is a Cubase LE problem.
This is a bummer.I really like using the recording program(cubaseLE) as it offers a lot more than (cubasis VST 4.0).The bummer is that stienberg dose not offer Tech support for CubaseLE,so it might be awhile before i find the answer to this problem. As i said earlier in this thread, I have post the problem over at cubase.net,but help dose not seem to be comming anytime soon and i can not phone stienberg.I do not think that cubaseLE is support by the techs over there.

Do you know were i might be able to find the answer to my problem. Were i might be able to find Tech support for cubase LE or someone that is very knowledgeable and could help me fix this problem. Thanks for your help.
